  • Imperio Bamba is a project born in North London, in 2016. They describe their sound as chichafrodelic, mixing chicha, afro-peruvian and psychedelic rhythms that emerge from their Latin American roots. Telling their stories through songs, immigrants’ stories, they try to create moments to feel in community, creating a home far away from home.

    Imperio Bamba is a representation of Latin American music diversity, with members from the Cono Sur. Their performance is an electrifying experience, filled with energy and passion that will make the audience connect with each other in a musical journey.   • Imperio Bamba es un proyecto que nació el 2016 en el norte de Londres. Su sonido lo describen como chichafrodélico, mezclando la chicha,el afro-peruano y la psicodelia, lo que emerge de sus raíces latinoamericanas. Cuentan su historia a través de sus canciones, historias de inmigrantes, tratando de crear momentos para sentirse en comunidad, creando un hogar lejos de la tierra natal.

    Imperio Bamba es una muestra de la diversidad musical latinoamericana, con miembros del Cono Sur. Su acto es una experiencia vibrante, llena de energía y pasión que lleva a la audiencia a conectar en un viaje musical. Javiera & Jules are the beating heart of Imperio Bamba. For them it wasn’t enough to do music together, but they also share a home, a life and recently they welcomed a child.

Javiera & Jules son el corazón latiendo que da fuerza a Imperio Bamba. Para elles no era suficiente hacer música juntes, si no que también decidieron compartir un hogar, una vida y recientemente le dieron la bienvenida a un hijo.

    Javiera is from Santiago, Chile and she is an artist and educator. Apart from Imperio Bamba, she works with latinx migrant communities in London and she is doing a PhD mixing arts-based research with migration and education.

    Javiera es de Santiago de Chile y es artista y educadora de formación. Además de Imperio Bamba, Javiera trabaja con comunidades migrantes latinxs en Londres y está haciendo un doctorado, combinando investigación basada en artes con migración y educación.

    Jules was born in Lima, Peru, but he has lived in many countries since childhood. He is a trained musician, following his father’ steps. Besides being an artist, Jules works as a mentor with migrant latinx youth in London.

    Jules nació en Lima, Perú, pero ha vivido en distintos países desde pequeño. Se formó como músico siguiendo los pasos de su padre. Además de artista, Jules trabaja como mentor con jóvenes migrantes latinxs en Londres.
